Tributes To Prophet Morris Offei-Asare

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile, we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed by life. 2 Corinthians 5:1-4 (NIV).

On Thursday, 20th June 2024, our skies were suddenly darkened as a bright star suddenly stopped shining, moved out of our sphere to a new realm in the immediate presence of our Saviour. The Resident Pastor of CCBC – Grace Temple, Ashiyie – Accra, has swapped his earthly tent for the heavenly one and joined the great cloud of witnesses of Hebrews 11.

Oh, how we cried the day you left us! Which was so saddened because we did not hear of your sickness, only to be informed of your passing. We clung to each other for support and comfort. Our Papa was devastated, together with all the CCBC Pastors, but when we remembered the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 116:15 (NIV):”Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants”, we were comforted.

Rev. Morris Offei Asare a former member of Trinity Baptist Church, London, joined CCBC in 1994 when it was established. But soon relocated to Ghana with his family. While in Ghana, he joined a couple of ministries, including the Tema First Baptist Church. However, in 2017, he rejoined CCBC and was made a Pastor of the Ashiyie branch. By dint of hard work and loyalty to the Vision, Mission and the Core Values of the mother Church, the church grew rapidly within the cluster of churches at the Ashiyie community.

He was an exemplary Pastor who served God with humility, gentleness, and kindness. He was also a radio Evangelist and a seasoned sort after Revivalist whom God used to transform many ministries locally and internationally. Prophet Morris, as affectionately called by all, had a heart of a Pastor and he was an example of a servant leader to all who came his way, young or old, rich or poor, sick or heathy, etc.
We, particularly, your colleagues in Ministry, and the Church at large, have benefitted from your administrative gifts and the ability to get us all working together. This helped move Bishop Francis Sarpong’s vision for CCBC forward during the time that you served as one of the key leaders in the Ghana Pastor’s Forum – CCBC. Thus, on that quiet Thursday morning, when you were admitted at the University of Ghana Medical Centre, in Accra, you went to rest from the hectic schedule you had on earth.

Goodbye, our brother, our friend, our fellow soldier, and fellow servant in the Lord’s Vineyard!
Farewell, Rev. Morris Offei Asare! God keep you till we meet again!
Rest peacefully in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
